I treat the image as data. It has to be complete, measurable, faithful in colour and still readable ten years from now. I bring together photographic practice and my background in computer engineering. I plan the capture, carry it out, develop the tools that automate processing and deliver documented files, not just pictures.
Photogrammetry. 3D models of objects, sculptures and architectural elements, reconstructed from series of photographs. I plan coverage and overlap, check the quality of the shots before processing and deliver the model with textures, a metric reference and a sheet describing how it was produced.
Artwork reproduction. High-resolution reproductions with colour management (colour target, ICC profiles) and optical correction, for archives, catalogues, publication or print. When the detail requires it, multi-shot capture and pixel shift to go beyond the resolution of a single frame.
Capture systems and workflows. Design of capture systems with automated shooting and transfer, processing pipelines, completeness checks and archiving. For labs, companies and projects that need to capture images in a repeatable way.
Cultural heritage and conservation, objects and products for catalogues and 3D on the web, architecture and survey, technical and industrial applications.
Every project begins with a simple question: what will the result be used for. I choose the method from that answer. After a site visit, or after analysing photos and measurements of the object, I propose the capture scheme, the equipment and the delivery formats. During capture I check the data on site. Processing follows a traceable workflow. Delivery includes the final files, the metadata and a short technical report explaining how they were produced.
At BeyondShape, a Naples-based biomedical 3D scanning startup, I helped bring into operation a photogrammetric scanner with one hundred synchronised cameras: shooting, downloading and checking the images, reconstructing the 3D model, displaying it on the software platform, installation and acceptance testing at client sites. I developed the management software and, as IT Manager, coordinated the technical infrastructure.
Alongside this, since 2018 I have photographed the artistic and religious heritage of Sicily and Southern Italy (Heritage). In 2026 I photographed the reliquary bust of Saint Agatha in Catania after its restoration (Saint Agatha).
